Bubble Pictures Studio is a dynamic independent film studio driven by a passion for storytelling and innovation. Our small but creative team delves into the bubble phenomenon through our experimental approach to filmmaking. Our debut film, "Lines," is a captivating wlw romance-horror set within the confines of an intimate photography studio. "Lines" is a provocative and raw story exploring the intricacies and fears of intense relationships. With a fresh take on relationships, set in a confined and intimate photography studio, "Lines" follows the story of two lesbian couples – while some have dated before, others are just getting to know each other for the first time. As events unfold, old feelings come bubbling to the surface while new emotions among the foursome add even deeper complexity to the story.

As this psychological drama unfolds, readers dive into an exhilarating visual story that exposes the deepest parts of the human psyche and desire. As the characters explore past relationships and new desires, readers will find themselves discovering their own darker selves as the characters expose their true selves.

Thematically authentic and raw, the smaller and more intimate moments found within "Lines" reminds us all that life is full of messy and uncomfortable situations. However, these moments exist to ensure we constantly question our emotions, thoughts, desires, and our "normal." While many works of a similar nature aim only to entertain, "Lines" forces its readers to experience the indulgent nature of its characters as if they were their own – leading to a deep desire to analyse the story far beyond its words and illustrations.

They say 'Lines' is a self-funded indie graphic novel that proves some of the best stories are created with just a bold idea and determination. But we believe there's a magical quality to this story that couldn't be fully explored in the graphic novel, like the incredible dance scene.

HOW YOUR MONEY WILL BE SPENT


The money raised from this crowdfunding campaign will go towards various essential expenses. These include paying our cast and crew, securing a suitable filming location, renting necessary filming equipment, acquiring props and essential items for production design, compensating a dance choreographer and music composer for their work on the lyrics of "Lines", providing refreshments and meals throughout the shooting days, paying the post-production team who hold responsibility for editing and sound design, and... 

Let's analyse how the funds will be distributed based on the different categories of funds received:

Micro Budget: With a budget of $30,000, we will thoughtfully allocate the funds to cover the essential expenses required for the project. This budget allows us to produce an indie movie in an experimental style. The production will span 7 days for shooting, 3 days for rehearsals, and we will hire inexperienced actors.

Low Budget: If we receive a budget of $100,000, we can undertake a more extensive production that includes the hiring of skilled actors and ensures a professional appearance.

Fair Budget: With a budget of $500,000, we can create a high-quality indie film. This budget enables us to assemble a professional cast and crew and provides sufficient resources for rehearsals and shooting.

Here are a few examples:

1- If we surpass our funding target or achieve new goals, we will provide subtitles in additional languages like Spanish, French, Persian, and Italian for the movie. Alternatively, we can dub the film, depending on the budget. 

2- We can ensure that our talented cast and crew receive compensation above the minimum rate as a way of expressing our gratitude for their dedication and hard work on behalf of YOU.

3- We can organise at least two in-person screenings of LiNES somewhere in the world! Dates & location TBD.

CHALLENGES AND DELIVERY

Making a film is a complex process, but we're ready for the challenge! Our commitment is to create an exceptional work of art without compromising on quality. Once we reach our funding goal—aligned with the film’s production costs—we’ll begin this exciting journey and keep you updated every step of the way.

Upon successfully securing the budget, the film will undergo a three-month pre-production phase, followed by shooting and post-production. We are highly optimistic that LiNES will be ready for viewing within nine months.

The script is 80 pages long, meaning the film will run over 60 minutes. Backers who purchase a membership will have access to both the screenplay and the graphic novel through Patreon.

LiNES is a gripping four-handed drama predominantly set in a single location. The story focuses on the intense interactions between two couples, with the added layer of two women who share a past romantic connection, creating a sort of ghostly presence in the room. The choice of a photography studio setting is deliberate: being photographed exposes individuals, compelling them to put on facades. We explore how this scrutiny leads to the emergence of false selves, driving the plot forward.

We want to film it using a handheld camera in a single location. Our aim is to give the audience an immersive and voyeuristic experience like they're part of the action. Blurring the line between theatre and experimental filmmaking for movie lovers. We plan to shoot it in one take; the actors will have room to improvise and even stay silent if they forget their lines, as long as they stay true to their characters. The nature of the story and the claustrophobic setting allows us to embrace spontaneity, resulting in natural awkwardness. It's as if the camera itself is caught up in the characters' heightened emotions, fuelled by their intoxication with substances and alcohol.

LOCATION


We love the idea of shooting this movie in an old warehouse in Berlin, Germany or London, England. The warehouse adds a distinct atmosphere that aligns perfectly with the style of LiNES. Just imagine the location in the video, bathed in cinematic lighting and adorned with our incredible set design, creating a visually stunning experience.
